Seth Rollins: Wildcard.

As Night of Champions approaches, everyone is wondering who will beat who and hoist a belt above their head. Every single belt in the company is defended and the reigning champions are worried about keeping the titles that they fought hard to obtain.

The biggest title match of the night is of course, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between the title holder Brock Lesnar and John Cena. Both men are worried about one upping the other and showing their athletic superiority in the ring, something Lesnar doesn’t have to worry too much about because he couldn’t wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. These guys have been going at each other since Lesnar took the belt at Summerslam.

The person that they need to worry about is the guy who is holding that guaranteed title shot in his hot little hands. That guy is Seth Rollins.

I think that it would be a very opportune time for Seth to cash in, especially if Brock is victorious. Cena can’t invoke a rematch clause and we all know that Brock won’t come back for a rematch. It’s brilliant really. If the Authority want to continue to be a dominant force, they need to have a champion in their stable. Kane isn’t a viable champion at the moment, I like the guy but don’t see him carrying a belt right now. I also like Randy Orton but I don’t want to see him with another belt yet. Seth Rollins is the only option that they have left and he is the best option.

Seth cashing in his MITB contract would provide a new face in the title picture. You can’t recycle the same three or four guys, things need to be kept fresh. As anyone saw with Dolph Ziggler FINALLY getting the Intercontinental Championship, the fans are craving it. It’s fresh, creative, and you know that he’ll show up each and every week. Seth taking the title can open up the door on his career and lead to some great feuds, with Roman Reigns (eventually taking the title), Dean Ambrose, and others.

He only has that contract for one year, he needs to cash it in at the most opportune time. Night of Champions would be perfect.

While everyone is worrying about what John will do to Brock, they should be worrying about that damn briefcase.

  1. I can’t see him cashing in on Brock. If and I mean If Seen comes out, it’s on Cena. Honestly though I see Brock and Roman having a match. There is no reason for Seth to blow his load. He has a year.
