Monday Night Raw is reaching a huge milestone on July 23rd, a record setting 1,000 episodes. As Michael Cole says every single week, it is the longest running weekly episodic television show in history. Achieving such a feat undoubtedly creates more than a few memorable moments and now I’m going to share a few (or more) of my personal favorites.
Raw Moment: Bret Hart shaking the hand of the 1-2-3 Kid after their championship match
Date: July 11, 1994
In addition to being highly entertaining, this is one of the greatest shows of sportsmanship I’ve ever seen inside a wrestling ring. It was a classy move by Bret Hart, one of the classiest and most talented wrestlers to ever step between the ropes. That single handshake acknowledged that both men put on one hell of a show and they respected each other.
Raw Moment: Raw Is Owen
Date: May 24th, 1999
When Owen Hart died, I felt like I had lost a member of my own family. It was one of the many events that forever changed the world of wrestling and those involved in it. The sadness and heaviness of what had tragically ended his life was made a little easier to bear with the outpouring of love on the very special Raw Is Owen. It stripped away the story lines and drama, showing the superstars as real. Seeing some of my favorites break down when describing someone who they saw as a friend, mentor, and brother, just broke my heart. It made the pain go away a little bit, even though it will never completely fade. Even thirteen years later I can still remember exactly where I was when Jim Ross delivered the horrifying news. It is the most meaningful and best episodes of Monday Night Raw I have ever seen.

Raw Moment: Steve Austin soaking the ring with a Coors Light truck
Date: March 22, 1999
One of the funniest moments in the history of wrestling, and a waste of a damn fine beer. Steve Austin MADE Monday Night Raw during the Attitude Era, Much of the success that the WWE obtained in the Attitude Era is due to Stone Cold and his renegade ways.

Raw Moment: Roddy Piper’s old school promo
Date: November 15th, 2010
As far as promos go, this one is at the very top. It pulled the audience in and they hung on every single word that came out of Roddy’s mouth. It was one of those moments that only comes along once in a great while and something that makes being a wrestling fan so special and exciting.

Raw Moment: CM Punk unleashes the pipe bomb
Date: June 27th, 2011
I don’t even need to explain why this is awesome and one of my top favorite moments. Just click this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Is9SdaC-X8.
Raw Moment: Triple H and Undertaker’s silent promo for their match at Wrestlemania 27
Date: February 26th, 2011
These two men hyped a match without even uttering a single word to each other, how many people can do that? The stature and respect that these two individuals have within the wrestling industry and the WWE itself is monumental and extraordinary. It definitely is high up on my list of favorite promos and can be viewed by clicking the following link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubxeRkEaPmA&feature=related.
Raw Moment: Bret Hart returns
Date: January 4th, 2010
The return of Bret Hart was one of the biggest shockers in the wrestling industry and something that I never thought I would see. The Montreal Screw Job is still a sore spot for many wrestling fans (myself included) and it was nice to see that Bret could put all that animosity behind him and return at the top. It still sends a chill down my spine when that first note of his music hits and he comes out in that leather jacket. He has always been my favorite and it was a real treat for wrestling fans that night, young and old.
